How bad are these fake battery connectors?

We purchased some of those (so you don’t have to!) for closer inspection.

Materials- genuine vs fake.

Genuine Ojop Quick Power battery connectors are produced from 1.6mm solid brass and stainless steel.

Fake products are produced from soft thin (1mm) steel. To look copper alike steel is painted in yellow color.

Function test- genuine vs fake.

Ojop Quick Power battery connectors were tested in Japan and confirmed they are properly functioning after 20 000 function tests.

We have tested 4 units only, so, of course, it is not enough data to get solid statistics data, but you can get an impression of overal products quality and durability. Fake product disassembled after 11; 17; 22 and 28 function tests performed by us. We were continuously locking and unlocking connector on a battery terminal. While in closed position it didn’t locked firmly and could be rotated on battery terminal as well.

Summary

Counterfeit products might look similar in pictures, but their quality is far behind genuine product. We would strongly suggest to stay away from these.

Not only because they easily break, but they are not safe to use as soft painted steel is used instead of brass which might cause short circuit and fire.

We haven’t found fakes portraying themselves as genuine Ojop Quick Power battery connectors, so you can be sure you are getting real deal if you see a writing “Ojop Quick Power” on a battery connector cover.
